About the Image...
Photographed from the bridge going to the Twin Lakes Campground that drives over one of the Twin Lakes at Mammoth. The campground is peaceful, tranquil, heavily shaded, with lots of hiking and opportunity for open fire cooking. And of course, the cooking can include freshly caught fish caught from the the Twin Lakes themselves. These lakes are calm and offer hours of fun with paddle boarder, kayaks, canoes, small boats ( no motors ), and anything else that doesn't use oil.
I am a San Diego based landscape and wildlife photographer, born and raised in Stockton, Illinois ( the 'S' is - not - pronounced ). I am one of the many that came to San Diego for a visit and just kept delaying my plans to go home. Although my heart is still pulled to the rural and slower lifestyle of growing up in farm country, my life is in and around San Diego. Over the years, I've grown to appreciate the big city lifestyle, but I always crave getting outside, discovering new places, reaching for those places that remind me of my youth, and to find connections with folks that are also from Northwest Illinois.
