This red roan from the wild horse herd outside of Virginia City, Nevada became alerted when two stallions had a small spat to my right. Nothing came of the quarrel and this roan went back to to grazing after a minute of watching.
I am a San Diego based landscape and wildlife photographer, born and raised in Stockton, Illinois ( the 'S' is - not - pronounced ). I am one of the many that came to San Diego for a visit and just kept delaying my plans to go home. Although my heart is still pulled to the rural and slower lifestyle of growing up in farm country, my life is in and around San Diego. Over the years, I've grown to appreciate the big city lifestyle, but I always crave getting outside, discovering new places, reaching for those places that remind me of my youth, and to find connections with folks that are also from Northwest Illinois.
