Located in Monticello, IA, the corner of 3rd and Walnut is like walking into a time capsule because of the red brick streets in that neighborhood which has many homes styled in Victorian era tradition. Illuminated by dim street lights, the bricks reflected a moonlight feel. Here is the intersection of both streets cleanly laid out in an orderly fashion so many years ago.
I am a San Diego based landscape and wildlife photographer, born and raised in Stockton, Illinois ( the 'S' is - not - pronounced ). I am one of the many that came to San Diego for a visit and just kept delaying my plans to go home. Although my heart is still pulled to the rural and slower lifestyle of growing up in farm country, my life is in and around San Diego. Over the years, I've grown to appreciate the big city lifestyle, but I always crave getting outside, discovering new places, reaching for those places that remind me of my youth, and to find connections with folks that are also from Northwest Illinois.
