Description
In 2014, wildfire's engulfed San Diego County, including Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. Fire fighting efforts on Camp Pendleton included every helicopter on the base being pressed into service with a bambi bucket to collect water from lakes on and other off base sources, namely Oceanside Harbor. Two full squadrons were ordered to protect the fuel depot by pulling water from nearby Lake O'Neill. This CH-46 Sea Knight was part of those two squadrons.
